Homemade Pizza w/ Pesto Sauce

I love Homemade Pizza!

Ever since I changed my lifestyle and eating habits I’ve been making Pizza At Home.

When we make homemade pizza in the cast iron pan or in our Brick Oven, we are aware that we are eating healthier, saving money, spend more time together and being much more creative.

DIY BRICK Oven.

Ingredients:

  • Store bought or Homemade Pizza Dough

  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil (Divide)

  • Fresh Pesto

  • 1 Cup Grape Tomatoes

  • 1/4 Tsp Sea Salt

  • 1/4 Tsp Garlic Salt

  • 1/4 Tsp Oregano

  • 1/4 Tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 Cup of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

  • Fresh Mozzarella Cheese

    Homemade Pesto Get The Recipe

Directions:

  1. Place a 12-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven and preheat to 500 degrees F. ( You may also heat the skillet on the stovetop over medium heat)

  2. Meanwhile, roll or stretch the dough into a 14-inch circle. Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Drizzle two thirds of the olive oil into the skillet, then carefully transfer the dough to the skillet, pressing the dough up the edges.

  3. Drizzle or brush remaining of the olive oil on the bottom of the pizza dough and exposed crust.

  4. Spread the pesto sauce over the dough, making sure to get all the way to the edges. spread the cheese over the pesto, add tomatoes and seasoning of your choice ( dry basil, oregano, garlic powder…)

  5. . Bake on the bottom rack until golden brown, 12 to 14 minutes. ( for crispy crust place on the top rack for the last 5 minutes of bake time)

  6. Add to chopping board, add fresh basil and garnish crust with Parmesan cheese, serve immediately.
